The Paralympics saw huge drama after Australia was bumped to second place after USA was disqualified in the 34 points 4x100m freestyle relay.

Australia, whose team consists of Ellie Cole, Isabella Vincent, Emily Beecroft, and Ashleigh McConnell had won the bronze, but were pushed to silver after USA was disqualified for their start.

USA's team touched the wall ages before Italy and Australia, but were disqualified, pushing Australia to silver and Italy to gold.

The USA team officials have lodged an appeal which was denied and dismissed.

Due to protests, the medal ceremony had to be pushed to the next day.

Ellie Cole showed her shock after the news of the disqualification.

Italy started celebrating immediately after hearing the news, while the USA just looked distraught.

"Oh wow, we have just heard that USA have been disqualified. There are looks of shock, horror and disappointment from some of the teams."

Great Britain was also disqualified pushing Canada ahead to the bronze position.

Fans had no issues expressing their disbelief over social media.

Congratulations Australia for your expressed fortune.
