A Florida man was extremely busy after he almost pulled off an "impressive crime spree" according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office in Florida.

This crime spree included at least four stolen vehicles and property damage.

Deputies were called out to the Pierson area after a report came through about a crash at U.S Highway 17 and Palmetto Avenue.

There they discovered a stolen Ford F-150 truck that was stuck in mud up to the tailgate.

There was no one inside the truck.

While in investigation mode, deputies were told by witnesses that two buildings had been broken into and another Ford F-150 and forklift had been stolen.

It was reported the forklift was driven until it ran out petrol.

The Ford F-150 was driven into the woods and crashed.

Deputies reported a cut catalytic converter in the truck.

Deputies then received a report about a burglary and stolen car. The victims stated the suspect grabbed the keys from the garage, a pair of shoes and stole the car.

Then deputies received another report, this time it was a stolen four-wheeler.

According to the daughter of the victims, they were in hospital with COVID-19 at the time.

Another property owner heard the four-wheeler while he was spraying pesticides. He followed the tracks which led him to a man walking who asked to take a drink from his sprinklers. The man said there was "poison in the water lines" and said it wasn't safe to drink.

The man then took off running. Deputies then caught up with Charles Harrington (24) walking down County Road 3 after a neighbour reported him jumping fences and lurking in the woods.

All of these thefts happened within 18 hours.

"To be clear, this is a very rural area and foot traffic in these areas is unheard of."

Body cam footage was released of the arrest and the truck stuck in mud.

The arresting deputy told Harrington they had gotten "several calls about you."

Harrington said he knocked on someone's door asking for "some water but other than that I didn't do nothing."

The keys to one of the stolen F-150's were in his pocket, and a lanyard that related to one of the other thefts.

The stolen catalytic converter from one of the trucks was also found on the four-wheeler.

Harrington was placed in handcuffs and it was found out here was an open warrant for him out of Marion County.

He is being charged with three counts of unarmed burglary, and three counts of grand theft less than $100,000.
