Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Gun Crime - Charleston, West Virginia

Ralph Floyd Barnett, Jr. (61) has pleaded guilty to a federal gun crime in Charleston, West Virginia.

Barnett was indicted in April by a Federal Grand Jury.

Court statements claim that police responded to a series of 911 calls made from Barnett's residence on August 17th, 2019. One of these calls had Barnett threatening to shoot somebody.

After gunshots were heard, police arrived on the scene, arrested Barnett and obtained a search warrant to search his property. 

A member of the Nicholas County Sherrif's Department seized a .22 calibre handgun from a chicken coop.

Barnett admitted to being prohibited from possessing firearms due to a previous felony conviction for the federal crime of aiding and abetting in maintaining a drug premises.

 Barnett pleaded guilty and is now facing up to 10 years in prison at his sentencing on October 21st, 2021.
