A former long-haul trucker has been accused of murder by California authorities.

The suspect has been accused of murdering three women back in 1977.

Taking a walk back to that year, over the course of multiple months, Kimberly Fritz (18) Lorraine Rodriguez (21), and Velvet Sanchez (31), were found strangled to death in different locations.

Now, Warren Luther Alexander (72) has been arrested in connection and sent to California from North Carolina in custody on a separate murder charge.

Each victim was found with ligature marks on their neck, while the autopsies determined they were strangled.

Kimberly was found in a motel in May 1977, Velvet was found in September 1977 after witnesses saw her head inside a motel room with an adult man, and Lorraine was found in December 1977, when police responded to a call about a body found on a bridge.

At the time, the suspect was a long-haul truck driver.

The Ventura County District Attorney, Erik Nasarenko revealed "forensic evidence" was recovered from the bodies, and clothing led to the capture of the suspect.

Each woman was a sex worker and police believed the suspect picked them up for sex prior to the murders. It's unclear if any were sexually assaulted.

It was revealed that authorities at the time noticed a "pattern" in the murders.

Back in 2022, the suspect was arrested in North Carolina after he was allegedly identified via DNA as the suspect who killed Nona Cobb (29), who was also strangled to death.

With his DNA in their system, authorities were allegedly able to connect him with the other three murders.

Currently, he has been charged with three murder counts and is being held in Ventura County without bond.

Authorities also believe he could have other victims across the country. It's unclear if he has entered pleas while the investigation is ongoing.
