Gucci is celebrating 60 years, so the company has decided to highlight one of its most iconic, beloved brand signifiers.
The celebration is set to highlight a new exhibition that honours Gucci Bamboo.
The exhibition will run until September 23rd in Tokyo, Japan, and will combine the history of bamboo with a modern twist on the classics.
Gucci Bamboo, also known as Bamboo 1947, was introduced back in 1947 and was compatible with Gucci's quality and craft. It was created by Guccio Gucci and was revolutionary at the time.
However, 60 years later, it remains a Gucci staple.
Gucci Bamboo bags are reinvented each season, bridging a gap between history and the present.
This new exhibition will be on two floors and feature a range of Gucci Bamboo products from over the years.
The seventh floor of the Gucci Ginza Gallery, where the exhibition takes place, will be dedicated to a special collection of 60 vintage bags, which have been reimagined by Japanese artists.
