Video Shows Missing Teen Jumping Into Shark Infested Waters

Video footage has emerged of a missing teen, who disappeared after leaping off a cruise ship into dark water, of him jumping into what seems like "shark-infested" water.

The water off Athol Island where Cameron Robbins was last seen jumping off the Blackbeard's Revenge sunset cruise, are "really shark-infested" said Raymond King, Royal Bahamas Defense Force (RBDF) Commodore.

A video taken moments after the jump shows him ignoring onlookers pleas for him to grab a buoy and swim in the opposite direction.

Social media users noticed a silvery reflection near the hull of the boat, and believe it was a shark that scared him off.

“Haunting, but you can see the exact moment the shark gets him."

“Tragic & scary in every way.”

Other viewers argued he abandoned his life ring after noticing the shape nearby.

“He initially goes for the buoy but then turns around when he sees the shark, ultimately disappearing into the water, likely dragged down. Very sad."

The ship remained in the area for several hours as crew attempted to look for him.

The coastguard called off its search two days later, after covering over 325 square miles.

Robbins had disappeared three days after his graduation from University Laboratory School.

University Lab School Director Kevin George described the former baseball star as a “great kid.”

“He’s an athlete … great smile, great head of hair."

“Just one of the kids you’re so proud of when they cross the stage.”
