The streets of Penrith erupted in chaos last night when locked-down fans celebrated the win of the NRL grand final.

Penrith Panthers narrowly defeated the South-Sydney Rabbitohs in last night's NRL grand final, with a score of 14-12.

Penrith became a chaos centre as fans decided to celebrate the win all over the streets of Penrith.

A crowd of hundreds gathered on the Penrith Leagues Club and caused the arrival of police.

Drivers were seen doing burn-outs, passengers sitting in the boot of cars waving Penrith flags.

Fans also gathered at the home of the Panthers' five-eighth Jerome Luai.

Many were driven to the area including the riot squad, the dog unit, and PolAir.

Some officers were even reportedly showered with objects.

At least one person at the scene has been charged.

A 22-year-old Mount Druitt P-plate driver will be facing court in November.

He is being charged with several driving offences, after he was allegedly seen doing burn-outs and accelerating towards police officers.

Last night was the Panthers' third NRL premiership.

This was also the club's second grand final in a row after losing to Melbourne Storm last year.
