Thousands of people are still without power across DMV after severe storms rolled through bringing heavy rain and wind.

The latest report had 12,000 Dominion customers and several hundred Pepco customers without power.

The storms caused serious damage across Northern Virginia, and Washington D.C.

Some power lines were even taken down.

Fires and damage to homes in the area were created by several lightning strikes.

Residents were sent running at an apartment building thanks to a two-alarm fire.

Trees were brought down, and homes became covered in debris and tree limbs.

The Storm Prediction Center saw much of the region in "Marginal Risk" for severe storms.

This meant only a few of the evening storms would produce damaging winds. The storm threats should've settled after sunset.

A tree also came down on a home. No one was injured.
